Most kitchens in Asheville will adjust a dish for common dietary needs such as vegetarian or gluten-free if you ask when ordering. Hours vary widely: bars open late and cafes close early. Happy-hour pizza deals are common at bars across North Carolina on weekday afternoons, and many casual restaurants take reservations online through third-party platforms while fast-food spots are walk-in only.

Asheville is in North Carolina, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Traffic in Asheville peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

We were traveling through Asheville from Cincinnati with our two dogs and stopped at Pack’s Tavern for lunch. What a great find! Our son, who apparently has a hollow leg, ordered the pot roast, and it absolutely did not disappoint. Today was clearly NOT the day for Don’s diet, because he went all in on the blackened chicken pasta. A little spicy, delicious, and apparently great for digestion! πŸ˜‚ I was looking for something lighter but still filling, and the salmon hit the spot. Fresh, flavorful, and exactly what I wanted. The iced tea was refreshing and perfect, too. Of course, Lulu & Buddy Bagel had to weigh in. They happily sampled some of my salmon … their verdict…. 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾 FIVE PAWS UP! Great food, dog-friendly, and a wonderful stop while traveling through Asheville. Pack’s Tavern was a road-trip WIN!

It was a busy place, and there were no reservations available beforehand, so we had to wait about 40 minutes for a table. The restaurant has a cozy brick-and-wood interior with a charming old tavern vibe. The food was excellent, and the portions were generous, so you’ll definitely leave satisfied. Prices were reasonable, around $20–30 per entrΓ©e. We ordered sandwiches and steak, and everything was delicious. There was plenty of seating both outdoors and on the second floor, making it a great option even for larger groups.

We want to give a huge thank you to Cassidy, Christopher, and the entire Pack’s Tavern team for making our day unforgettable. We had our wedding reception at the Century Room in Pack's Tavern. From our first visit we immediately fell in love with the style and atmosphere of the space. Cassidy and Christopher were incredibly kind and helpful throughout entire the planning process, answering every question, providing clear details, and keeping us on track with important reminders. On the day of the event, Cassidy and Christopher had everything perfectly prepared, and their staff was welcoming and attentive. We chose to serve the food family style and we absolutely loved it; it was such a great way for our guests to mingle with each other. The food was delicious, so many guests raved about the food and the service. A few guests even said they loved it so much they can’t wait to throw their own party there. Thank you to Pack's Tavern for helping making our day so memorable! We visited on a Thursday evening, off season. We were able to park in the lot out back ( free after 5pm on week days). We were greeted and seated promplty, despite several large parties. Although the wait staff were busy, they were attentive and friendly. The food was delicious- they have a in- house made hot sauce! There are alot of drink options ( beer, wine, cocktails, zero proof, mocktails, non- alcoholic beverages). One gotta love/ appreciate an repurposed old building.
